Why is my AC running but not cooling the house?

The most common causes are a dirty filter, a refrigerant problem, a failing part in the outdoor unit, or air leaking out of the ductwork. Sometimes the system was never the right match for the home to begin with. A proper diagnosis tells you which one it is before you spend money.

Why does my AC smell musty?

A musty smell usually means moisture is building up inside the system, often from drainage or humidity problems, and it can lead to mold growth. Because we’re licensed mold assessors, we can check for mold and confirm it with a lab test if needed.

Why is my house humid even with the AC on?

Your AC is supposed to remove moisture as well as heat. When it doesn’t, the cause can be a system that’s too large for the home, airflow problems, or duct issues. Humidity that stays above about 60% can lead to mold, so it’s worth fixing.
