Signs Your Ductwork Is the Problem

One Room Is Always Hotter

A bedroom, bonus room or upstairs that never cools like the rest of the house.

Weak Airflow at the Vents

Some vents blow hard, others barely at all.

Sticky Air With the AC On

Poor airflow keeps your AC from removing the humidity it should.

The AC Runs All Day

It never catches up, so it never shuts off.

High Electric Bills

You’re paying to cool air that never reaches the rooms you live in.

“Your AC Is Working Fine”

You’ve been told the system is fine, but the house still isn’t comfortable.

Your AC Can Work Perfectly and Still Not Perform

There’s a difference between an AC that operates and an AC that performs. Many homeowners are told their system is fine, and it is. It turns on, the refrigerant is right and the parts work. But the house still isn’t comfortable.

That’s because the cool air your AC makes has to travel through your ductwork to reach every room. If the ducts are too small, kinked or poorly laid out, the air never arrives the way it should. It’s like watering a garden through a kinked hose. The faucet works fine, but the water can’t get through.

Your AC makes the cool air. Your ductwork decides whether it ever reaches you.

The Ductwork Problems We Find Most

  • Ducts too small for the air your system needs to move
  • Kinked, crushed or sagging flex duct
  • The wrong fittings, which choke the airflow
  • Leaks that lose cooled air or pull in hot attic air
  • Poor layout, with long runs to some rooms and short runs to others
  • Return air that’s too small, so the system can’t breathe

Each one adds resistance your system has to push against. The harder it has to push, the less air gets through, and the less comfort you get for the energy you pay for.

A Bigger AC Won’t Fix Bad Ductwork

When a house won’t cool, the usual answer is a bigger AC. But a bigger system pushing air through the same undersized ducts just runs louder, turns on and off too often, removes less humidity and costs more to run.

The real fix is ductwork designed for your home and the system that feeds it.

Uncomfortable rooms usually aren’t the AC’s fault. They’re the ductwork’s, and ductwork can be fixed.

What We Do

Duct Repair, Modification and Design

Not every home needs all new ductwork. We fix what your home actually needs.

Duct Repair

Fixing crushed, kinked, torn and leaking sections, and replacing fittings that choke airflow.

Duct Modification

Resizing runs, adding or enlarging returns, and changing the layout where the design is the problem.

Full Duct Redesign

New ductwork designed for your home using ACCA Manual D, the industry standard, so every room gets the air it needs.

Real Results: Alex’s Home in Casselberry

Alex’s house averaged 78°, and the air was dustier than it should be. We replaced his system and ductwork with a design made for his home.

Recognized by the U.S. Department of Energy

The Badge We Can’t Buy

Look up FL HVAC Services on Google and you’ll see a line most AC companies don’t have: “Home energy auditing recognized by the US Dept. of Energy.” Tap it and the Energy Skilled badge pops up, with a link to Energy.gov.

Nobody can add that to a business listing themselves. Not us, and not a marketing company. The U.S. Department of Energy verifies the credential and reports it to Google, and Google puts it on the listing.

What it means for your home: we look at your house and your AC as one system. How outside air leaks in, how humidity builds up, how air moves from room to room, and why some homes end up with stale, stuffy air that makes people feel worse inside than out. Then we design and fix your system for what your home actually needs.

Ductwork Questions We Hear Most

How do I know if my ductwork is the problem?

If one or more rooms never cool, airflow is weak at some vents, the house feels humid, or the AC runs all day even though you’ve been told it’s working fine, ductwork is the most likely cause. Testing tells us for sure.

Will a bigger AC fix my hot rooms?

Usually not. A bigger system pushing air through the same undersized ducts runs louder, removes less humidity and costs more to run. The ductwork has to be fixed.

Will duct cleaning fix it?

No. Cleaning doesn’t change the size, layout or condition of your ducts, which is what limits airflow. We don’t do duct cleaning. We fix the ductwork itself.

Do I have to replace all of my ductwork?

Not always. Sometimes a few repairs or modifications fix the problem. Sometimes the design itself is wrong and a redesign is the right answer. We’ll show you which, and why.

Can ductwork with mold be cleaned?

Only non-porous materials like metal can be cleaned. Flex duct and duct board with mold have to be replaced.

Are there rebates for duct work?

Duke Energy offers rebates for duct testing and repair, and OUC and other Florida utilities offer duct rebates too. We’re an approved Duke Energy contractor, and we’ll tell you what you qualify for.

How much does ductwork repair cost?

It depends on what we find. You’ll know the price before any work begins.

What areas do you serve?

Ocala, The Villages and the surrounding areas, including Marion, Sumter, Lake, Citrus, Alachua and Orange Counties and the Orlando area.
