About This Video
During the hottest summer in years, this homeowner's highest electric bill was $262. The summer before, at lower electric rates, she was paying around $300.
We didn't replace her AC. The system was under 10 years old, so we made modifications and installed an advanced filtration system. Her bills dropped right after, to about $160, and in the off-season they've come in around $100 for a home of about 1,700 square feet.
She expected she'd need a whole new system to see that kind of difference. She didn't.

George: When you bought the other house, you moved in around June 2022. What was that first electric bill?
Homeowner: My first bills in June were between $200 and $250.
George: So we came in and made some modifications. We installed the better filter system. We didn't change the unit; your existing unit was under 10 years old. After we made the modifications and improvements, what did your electric bill go down to?
Homeowner: $160.
George: Then the following year the rates went up, and we went into the peak season this past summer, where we hit about 115 degrees. What was your electric bill like then?
Homeowner: My bills this summer ran between $249 and $262 for the highs, and last year in the summer I ran as high as $300.
George: So a much hotter summer, and last year with lower rates you were still at $300. What about the off-season? What's the lowest bill you've gotten?
Homeowner: I think my lowest ever was right around $100.
George: Around $100, for almost 1,700 square feet. You're happy with that?
Homeowner: Very happy. Huge savings. I thought I had to replace a whole system to see that sort of difference, so to see that with an advanced filter system like that is amazing.
