About This Video
This homeowner's AC wasn't old and was working, but her electric bill was high and the air didn't feel clean. She knew it wasn't her forever home, so replacing the system didn't make sense.
Instead, we made modifications and added an advanced filtration system. Even with electric rates going up, her highest summer bill dropped from over $300 to the $240s, at least a $70 to $80 a month difference.
She also noticed the closed-off bedrooms stopped feeling stuffy, there's less pet hair in the air, less humidity, and she sleeps better. Not every high bill needs a new system. Sometimes the right modifications fix it.

Homeowner: The house I purchased last year had a reasonably new air conditioning system in it. I know George, being the air conditioning perfectionist that he is, would have liked to replace my system, but I knew it wasn't my forever home, and it was working well, except my bill was high and the air wasn't very clean.
It's hard to compare the bills because we had a rate hike while I was in the home, but it made at least a $70 to $80 difference a month in my bill. In the height of the summer, my highest bill this year was $240-something, compared to over $300 last summer, before I had the filter system. And when you consider that rates have gone up, my bill should have gone up, but it went down. That says a lot about the filter system.
Not to mention, I sleep better. The air is cleaner, there's less pet hair flying around, it breathes much better, less humidity, much cleaner air. The main part of the house always cooled fairly well, but I kept the bedroom doors shut because of the cat, so those rooms got stuffier than the rest of the house. Once I had the filter system in, it was such a difference in those rooms.
George: Much better?
Homeowner: Much, much better.
